I never could stick to just one thing…

People would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up and the answer always changed every time. I never locked myself into one mode of thought. The arts, sciences, politics and visual mediums always appealed to me as a I rotated versions of self expression from one draft to the next. I’ve always did photography but never took it seriously when several years back it caught the attention of others. Starting with local musicians, I shot whatever I could, improving my technique and networking constantly. Pretty soon people were asking me how much I charged and I remember feeling completely unprepared, as if I really didn’t see it as a serious endeavor initially. As I began to meet more people that valued it, my skill and confidence grew and soon jumped into the video realm, expanding my types of clients I’d shoot and using the art form as a tool to help push more change in the communities I was interacting with. Now my main focus is to improve myself with a new challenge whether that be a project or a goal I set for myself in sharpening the way I tell stories in my project. I want to hear a story and figure out a different way of telling it whether that be from perspective or just re-examining someone else’s. So what’s your story?
